Imme Scholz is a sociologist and former deputy director of DIE from 2009 to April 2022. She has worked extensively on topics at the environment-development interface, including climate change and tropical forest loss. She is a member of the German Council of Sustainable Development and co-chairs the UN Independent Group of Scientists that elaborates the next Global Sustainable Development Report. She has been participating in the T20 since 2017. In April 2022 she left DIE and became one of two presidents of the Heinrich Boell Foundation in Berlin.
