Christian is a senior researcher with the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) since 1998. He is a political scientist with a research focus on taxation, decentralisation, urban governance, legitimacy and e-government. Between 2003 and 2007, Christian was the GTZ programme coordinator at the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN-ECLAC) in Santiago de Chile. Currently he works on research projects on “Global Tax Expenditures Database (GTED)”, “Mobilising domestic revenue”, and “Transformative urban coalitions”, and he is the DIE regional coordinator for Latin America.
